Love Yourself: Heal From Your Past

Love Yourself: Heal From Your Past

Ouroboros

Sometimes we find ourselves contemplating our past. We find or lose ourselves in the moment of what we did wrong and what we didn't do right. Especially when we suffer from depression, psychotic disorders, traumas, and even phobias. Our brains and minds were manufactured to store memories and the ones we can revisit are the ones with a powerful emotional tie to them. Sometimes mental illness is nurtured by the past we have not let go of or that still haunts and unfolds like finding a dirty penny. For me is very hard to forget the things I did that I am not proud of and especially, I can't forget the wrongs done to me. I bet all of us can agree that even with forgiveness, our bodies and minds learn to put invisible walls, immense guards, and impenetrable barriers that discourage us to trust in ourselves and others. It becomes easy to and feels comfortable to retaliate in that way because coping mechanisms, medication, and therapy can take us so far, but not far enough to the finish line.

I don't like saying this to everyone when you acquired, born with, or triggered mental illness (even addiction), there is no finish line, and this hypothetical race to the great beyond is self-deception and unraveling inception that the reality is the only finish line is when you take your last breath and leave this world behind. Didn't mean to be too grim yet that is the reality. Find some bliss and gratitude that we survived and are fighting each second of our existence to avoid -ending up like those who completely lost control and end up in a psych ward, or those who self-medicate too much that their families are planning their funeral. We were chosen by our divinity to live not as a civilian but as a soldier to fight, change, and help those that are about to fall, have fallen, or have been lifted. They need us now more than ever.

I have remembered a Buddhist saying that stuck to me and has been a powerful mantra that is easy to remember and speak when you need to concentrate through a hardship that is immense and highly difficult. Before I share this mantra or power words is I want all of us to never forget is that we were put on this Earth to walk the path of our destinies and the obstacles may seem overly difficult yet not impossible. Without obstacles, challenges, and ordeals, we would not find purpose, reason to fight, and light to fight in life. These are the power words or mantras.

"To Conquer Others Is To Know Power. To Conquer Yourself Is To Know The Way."

Now, what do you think it means??? Take a moment to read it... Take a moment to say it... Take a moment to feel it... After you did each intervention, I think I know it means something to you now. This is my method of healing from my past. When you remember something from your past that makes you sad, scared, hurt, lost, guilty, regret, shame, grief, and anything else that is negatively impacting you. Say these words, with feeling and strength and confidence. Say it as many times as you need for yourself. As many as it brings your closure, peace, calm, relaxation, strength, courage, and above all else serenity. As you battle these memories, let them go. Break free from them, believe that they don't hold dominion over you, liberate yourself from the cage that entrapped you, free yourself from your captors, and walk out with ease from this imprisonment.

That's how much power we have for ourselves. Remember we survived the hardship, we became stronger, we became wise, and we earned our stay on this Earth. Now tell me, what will you do that will bring you more completeness on this planet. What will you do now that you broke free, proved to have your liberation, and started something new for yourself? Do not prove it or show it to me or anyone else, because you don't have to. Remember you are the soldier, the paladin, the hero of your own story. I will end this with this question for you to ask yourself that I ask myself.

"What does a hero, a paladin, or a good soldier do for the world?"
